Vale Industries, Inc. : Download the Upset Tester Demo Program

This demo program was created using Aymetrix Multimedia Toolbook 3.0 and uses a runtime version of that program to run. Many other demo programs use this same software and if Multimedia Toolbook Runtime 3.0 is already installed on your computer, you can download the smaller file. If you do not know if Multimedia Toolbook Runtime 3.0 is installed on your PC, download the larger file.

For information on the minimum PC requirements for running this demo program and for installation instruction, please scroll down this page. It may be easier to install the program if you print this page so that you are able to reference it as you setup the demo program. If you have never downloaded a program before and the instructions are confusing, it may be easier to call (630) 584-1900 and request that the demo program be sent to you on floppy diskette.

Select which version of the demo program you would like to download.

To run this program your computer should meet the following minimum requirements:

MS-DOS 3.1, Microsoft Windows 3.1, 20 MHz 386SX PC, Windows compatible mouse, 1.44 MB (3.5") floppy drive, hard disk with 4 MB of free disk space (for both the demo program and Multimedia Toolbook Runtime 3.0 - only 750K is needed for the demo if you already have Multimedia Toolbook Runtime 3.0 installed.), VGA graphics adapter card (the demo will run in 16 color mode, but the photographs will not look very good - we recommend that you use a 256 color mode.)

Note: The demo will also run under Windows 95.

To install the program from a downloaded file:

  1. Copy the downloaded file to an empty 'temporary' directory.
  2. The downloaded file is a self-extracting compressed file. Run the file by double-clicking on it from Windows File Manager if you are using Windows 3.x or from the Windows Explorer if you are using Windows 95.
  3. The Setup files will be extracted from the downloaded file. You may need to press F5 to see the new files.
  4. Run the setup program by double-clicking on the SETUP.EXE file that was extracted in step 3.
  5. Follow the instructions that appear onscreen.
  6. Once the setup is complete, the 'temporary' directory you used in step 1 can be deleted.

As the Vale Upset Tester Demo is installed a group called "Vale Demos" is created in the Windows Program Manager (or added to the Windows 95 Start menu under 'Programs'.)

If you do not change the default directory, the demo program is installed in a directory on your hard drive named C:\VALEDEMO. The MultiMedia Toolbook Runtime 3.0 files are installed to a directory called ASYM\RUNTIME that is placed under your Windows directory.
